So we got up on the 26th thinking the roads would be way too bad to head to TN for our Christmas with Jason's family. But they were really fine. I guess we always think they will be worse than they are. We're such southerners. lol. We got the kids moving and packed a bag for the night and hit the road north.
We got there around lunch time. The kids were wired! We were glad to be with family...Joel was stoked to see his cousin, Riley again! And we had a good time watching our kids open their gifts...money, gift cards, earrings, and clothes for the girls and some serious power toolage for the boy along with Stinky the Garbage truck!
If we got 2 inches of snow...TN got 4-5! And it was still pristine at my in-laws house. So after the presents and lunch, we got dressed to go have a little fun. Jason's mom had surgery the week before Christmas and just wasn't up for braving the out of doors just yet. But she watched from her bedroom window. Just look at that sweet boy waving to his Nana. I love it. It was much colder {20's} than Christmas Day {37 degrees} had been and so I'm really glad we brought our ski bibs and such. It was freezing but we just had a blast together!
I love these pics of Brent and Sydney. I'm sorry there are so many of them...they just have to be viewed in succession to be fully appreciated!
I think this wraps up our Christmas of Twenty Ten. We had a fabulous break and found the Lord faithful as always. We enjoyed time with our babies and our families. We laughed and made memories. We contemplated His advent and were humbled by His grace. May we serve the Lord all the more in 2011 and honor Him in all things.
