"So you're just gonna let us stay here and starve? But mama, it's the day of love. You should show us your love by cooking our lunch!"
It was a valid argument. But I wasn't falling for it. Jase and I have precious little time together by ourselves and we took an hour and had lunch. No frills. Nothing special except just being by ourselves. Which is all I really needed for Valentine's Day anyway. He bought the girls each a St@rbucks gift card to go with their candy from us. And he laughed, "I spent more on the girls than I did on you!" But that's just fine with me. I'd take an uninterrupted hour with my man any day over flowers or chocolate or a little plastic card for free coffee.
Which is really saying something, peeps. Because I heart me some coffee. And I have a slight addiction and certain love affair with chocolate. But my man is tops with me. He trumps them all. So yay for an hour with the man I love!
We put the kids' stuff out for them this morning and they were surprised to get some Valentine's lovin'. Nothing much...just some cotton candy {their favorite that they are rarely treated to!}, some sweet tarts and their cards. Kennedy didn't want me to post the picture of her...she was a tad puffy in the face with sinus trouble. But the other two could care less!

They also received some lovin' via the mail yesterday when three cards came from Mamaw and Papaw McNabb in TN. Each with $10 just begging to be spent! So we are off to Target, where they can use their plastic coffee cards and spend some cash in one stop. Should be fun...Yeah, it's the simple things. A little candy. A lunch date with Jase. A cup of coffee. A day of love. Simple yet perfect for this mama.
