somebody is SEVEN

So how did 9.4.13 get here so quickly!?! How the hockey did this happen?

The Thai Tornado sitting there all unsuspecting and smiley all the while living in complete and utter disobedience???

That's right.

He did NOT obey our demands that he stay little. And not get taller. And he was most certainly NOT to turn 7!

But he did it all anyway.

Sigh.

How could I be mad at him though?

I mean, look at him...

I just want to gobble him up.

That's what we did on his big day. And coincidentally, on the day before, we gobbled up some yummy Japanese food {his choice!}...we were facing an unbelievably bright window and shooting with an unbelievably inept iPhone.

He wanted an Indiana Jones costume {I know, right?} and a new DS game. Both of which he got.

And LOVED.

It was a bittersweet week around here...because my baby isn't such a baby anymore! But he is treasured and adored and loved beyond measure!

Happy Birthday, sweet boy!
We love you like crazy cakes!

he's a big boy

So we made a decision a few months ago. And it was a bittersweet one for me. Our three oldest children have all attended weekday preschool at our church once they were three years old. But Gabe? I just wasn't sure I wanted him to be away from me.

Or maybe, I didn't want to be away from him would be a truer statement.

Either way, I was unsure. He's only 2 for Pete's sake. And while he's been home a year, I still wasn't sold on it.

But then I remembered.

I remembered how stinkin' hard homeschooling a kindergartener was.

And I said to myself, "Self, first grade may KILL you. Or him. Or both of you."

So I relented and agreed to two days a week...Tuesday and Thursday. From 9am till noon.

Before I tell you how it's going, have a sneaky peak at this Little Prince on his first day...

"Bye, Mama!"

Oh my, did he ever need a haircut that day!?! {He's had one since then.} But good googly moogly! Is he ever sweet and so adorable? Yeah, I think so too.

Well, his first day {and the next three or four afterward} were hard. He cried a bit and had a hard time. But really, he was confused as to why he was going into a different room than his Sunday School room at church. Jase says that he keeps pointing and wondering why they aren't going where he is used to going...where he is comfortable. But Thursday was his best day yet and we are so glad for our sweet boy.

Because you wanna know something???

Homeschooling is a PIECE OF CAKE when a certain Little Prince is away for the morning! :)
