Look what came in the mail~

So we interrupt your regularly scheduled Disney posts to bring you an exciting news bulletin. When we were in Thailand, I emailed our case worker a couple of photos of Jase and I with Joel. She had told me to stay in touch with her...that many families travel and never email the agency or the case worker while they are there and she wanted to know how we were doing. So the day we met Joel, I sent her two pictures. No biggie. Just thought she'd like to see us as well as hear from us.

Back in October, someone from WACAP emailed to ask our permission about possibly using a picture of us in one of their publications. Sure...why not? I honestly forgot all about it. Then, the other day, Syd brought the mail in and said, "Mom, you and Joel are on some magazine!" She was holding the Holiday edition of WACAP today {a quarterly publication} and there we were...on the back cover! I couldn't believe it. I thought when they asked, it'd be a little pic inside somewhere. But look where my boy and I ended up!

How sweet is that? I just love the caption! At last! At last is right! It seemed like way too long of a wait to endure but so many people {probably most adoptive parents} wait longer than we did and seeing this picture brought it all back. The joy that we felt that day and the wait that melted away in that moment will stay with us. Already three months and a few days since this meeting happened...we are celebrating Christmas and laughing at our son turn the lights on and off and blown away that the wrapped gifts under his bedroom tree are in fact still wrapped. He's here, he's hysterical, he's ours. Hard to believe. We're still pinching ourselves.
