New heights, new sights~

So that describes my Pookie, the sweet "Kennedy Grace with a beautiful face", perfectly these days. She's grown. Too much. Well, that's what her dad said the other night when she hugged him before bed. She's all legs. Skinny, skinny with legs that seem to go on forever. Yep, she takes after me in that regard. Looks like her dad...has the R family features. But man oh man, she's built like me. At ten years old, I was a skinny mini with long legs too. My mom called me "long legged Sally" when I was a kid. Never really understood that one. Oh, and Keith {the dork}, called me "long legged salad". Yep, he missed something along the way. But he was just trying to copy my mom. Oh well, enough about me.

While Kennedy's legs just keep getting longer, and her face seems less like a little girl everyday...her eyes are needing some help. She began complaining about 18 months ago that she couldn't see well. So we took her to the doc and they said that she did have a bit of a vision problem but really not enough to warrant needing glasses. Okay. Well. Alrighty then. Fast forward to this summer and she's constantly reminding me that she can't see things. Like the clock. And the TV. And well, anything 10+ feet away. So back to the doc we go. And you know something? Her vision is the exact same as it was 18 months ago. Hasn't changed even the slightest bit.

So while that's great news, ol' girl still can't see! So the doc relented and said that she's noticing it more and it's bothering her more...that's why it's a better time to get glasses. She's not a third grader anymore...she's a big fifth grader! And it's really important to be able to see. Well, sure. I mean, I thought it was really important as a third grader too! But, I digress.

Check her out. I mean, is she the cutest thing ever or what?

Yeah, I think so too. She looks adorable and I'm stoked that she can see now! She likes them really well. Already had to deal with a few kids {from church no less}, making fun of her. But for the most part, everyone has really made over them and told her how great they look. So yay! She likes them and she can see and insurance is a wonderful thing! Win win all the way around! :)

She looks so cute in her new glasses! I'm so glad she can see better...that makes all the difference in the world!! Also glad she doesn't mind wearing them...and watch out for those "church kids"...they can be the roughest ones. ;)

Love you all!

Oh, she looks beautiful in her glasses. I got mine in the 5th grade too (and did not look nearly as cute in them!)

One of my nieces just got glasses. So we've all been wearing ours lately to prove that we're just as cool.

I think she is BEAUTIFUL with her glasses..

AND her long legs!! Those will NEVER be a burden! Long after she has Lasix eye surgery, she will still have those legs!!
