Chuck E Cheese, grandparents, cousin, & friends~

Public Service Announcement :: We interrupt our regularly scheduled Lessons Learned posts to bring you this breaking news.
The boy is turning five this weekend!!!!!!!!!

So like I said on Facebook the other day, our handsome Thai Tornado is continuing down the road of disobedience and is getting older. That's right. Despite our efforts to turn him permanently into a four year old little boy, he is having none of it. Well, what are we to do then but devote an entire weekend to celebrating!?!

Jason's parents came in town with our nephew, Riley, while Brent and Kim were house hunting in their new town. {We are so excited that they are moving closer!}. We decided in lieu of a party, we'd take the boys along with Tara and Veldon's son, Max, to Chuck E Cheese for some loud fun. It was great for the boys. They had a blast. Although I am a bit worried that Joel likes guns too much! lol.

I scarcely ever saw Syd...she was there of course. But way too fast for me. I think she was actally hovering above us in those awful crawling tube things. I did manage to snag a shot of Kennedy and Katie though!

On Saturday, Joel opened some gifts from Nan and Dandaddy as well as from Mamaw and Papaw, Jessica and John in NE Tennessee. He was all over it. Actually, they had all sent money for us to shop with and so he racked up on Star Wars figures, Batman stuff and even a book about poop. Papaw and Mamaw actually sent this in the mail with his money! He had read it to Joel months ago when we were visiting and Joel thought it was such a riot. He loved getting his gifts and then later, just he and I went shopping to spend the rest of his money. He made some really good choices and was so pleased with what he bought.

His birthday is tomorrow and we are planning a simple lunch, a sort of Batman looking cake and some great gifts. He is five and we are blessed!
