Christmas Happenings :: Nana & Dandaddy

So after that restful and fabulous Christmas Day, we woke up ready to head to Jason's hometown to celebrate with his side of the family. We were excited to be with them at Megan's new house. She is now living in the old downtown area of their neck of the woods and it was lovely. I love me some old houses! Her's is a beaut!

We enjoyed a yummy Italian lunch together. Everything was delicious. After the eating was over, the littles were dying to open gifts! So we piled into the living room and let them have at it. Jase's mom had given me money to buy for the kids. I must say, I rocked it out on Black Friday and got oh so much bang for her buck! Both girls had been begging for new bathrobes and sleeping pants. Check! I got them each a fuzzy soft robe and set of two pair of happy pants. I was also able to get them new twin blankets for their beds to match their redecorated room. Goodness, are they ever soft!?! They loved them. The girls also enjoyed the receiving of gift cards and money from Brent and Kim, along with beautiful initial and birth stone charms from Megan.

For Joel, not to be left out, he got Star Wars sleeping pants along with a Star Wars robe. Can I just tell you? The boy loves them! He wears his robe every morning to keep cozy! I also bought a hot wheels track type contraption that is right up his alley. No pun intended. :) He also got some pirate goodies from Brent and Kim {it's crazy how much he likes the "bad guys"...like pirates and Darth Vader!} He also got an Angry Birds shirt from Megan. He LOVES Angry Birds!

They had a blast and loved their gifts. We cleaned up the mound of wrappings and boxes and the us girls all took a walk around the neighborhood to see the old houses. It was chilly, but a nice day for it. We came back to a few games of Cornhole {thanks Mom, Dad, & Karen!} and snapped some family pictures thanks to a nice neighbor who walked over to do the job for us.

Then. we hit the road for home. It was a really nice day. Joel had a blast with cousin Riley. It was great to see Megan's new place. Just a low key, relaxed kinda day. Just the way I like it.That did it for us this Christmas. Whew. It's been a blur of a month! But we have enjoyed the company of friends and family and shared many laughs this season. Each Christmas, we know and learn more of Jesus who came for us and by His grace, love Him more than the year before.
