world's greatest uncle{s}

So that's what our kids have! Honest, they are tops. And Sunday, my brother Keith took unclehood to a whole nutha level.

He called a couple weeks ago and said he'd like to come up {they live an hour and a half away} and take Joel to see the 3D St@r W@rs movie. They are both fanatical about SW. So...I spoke on Joel's behalf and said, "Oh, yeah. He'll be stoked."

Well, Sunday was the day. But during the week leading up to this big event, Joel was getting more and more antsy. Soooo ready to go with his Uncle Keith. These two, they pretty much adore each other. I mean, of all the men in Joel's life, Jase is numero uno by far. And Keith, is a hard and fast second. No doubt.

Joel could not wait to go with Keith. Could. Not. Wait. He asked day after day if this was the day. And everyday he was disappointed.

Until Sunday.

When we told him it was the day.

And he insisted on wearing his SW tshirt.

And he stood at the kitchen window.

Waiting and watching.

With his D@rth V@der helmet in hand.

And yes, since I couldn't decide which one looked more precious, I posted a color and b/w version. That's the kind of mama I am.

Then he saw the car pull in the driveway.

And he knew it was time.

Time to put on that DV mask.

And go see that movie.

With his mask firmly in place, he ran out the door and into the garage.

And he will hate me for this later in life, but I just have to tell you, he was squealing like a girl.

And it was the most precious thing ever.

In succession...

Yeah, I know I went a little overboard there. I can't help it. These made me teary when I was processing them and well...I just couldn't do without any of them. Too sweet.

Keith told Joel he had a surprise for him and that he needed to close his eyes. He did one better than that and turned around with his little hand over his face.

But then curiosity got the better of him and he turned around.

And he had a little trouble not peeking.

But he loved his new Yod@ backpack!

And they had a blast using "The Force" on each other.

And on me...

LOVE. Mad love.

They had a fantastic time together. Eating popcorn. And Twizzlers. And Sprite.

Keith snagged some pictures with his iPhone and I'm so glad he did. Look at these two Jedi's.

From our galaxy to yours, m@y The Force be with you...

I was having a meeting with my "brother from another mother" (thanks to you and Karen for sharing him with me) that same week that Joel was waiting every day. Keith was so excited and couldn't wait until time to be able to see Joel and take him to that movie. He talked about it like it was the only thing on his calendar for the month. I love that about him. How he feels about your boy. I can't wait to see him as a daddy. Can I just say...you are so lucky to have him as a brother. Don't tell him I said it, but he's pretty stinkin' awesome and about one of my most favorite people ever. And he adores your boy to the moon and back!

TOO cute!!!! Love all the enthusiasm and love! :) Eric took my boys to see it, too (They're HUGE SW fans, too!) Jack has been wearing his DV mask around a lot this week. (It's an old school mask that was Eric's as a child... covers his entire head!) One eye piece is missing, so he has one dark lens eye, and you can actually see Jack's other eye through the hole (so silly!). Well, Jack was doing his math at the dining table the other day and he suddenly sneezed from beneath his DV mask, looked up, pondering... said to Eric, "I wonder if DV ever got a cold in this thing" :)
