found :: part II

So I may have bored y'all with the details of how I found the little prince's blog, but I just want to get it all down. :) For posterity, you know? And maybe I went a tad overboard with the whole, "prepare to be blown away" bit. But honestly, I'm still blown away by what God did. So I was thinking you may be too.

Like I said, I couldn't believe what I was reading. Heck, I couldn't believe what I was seeing either. But the really amazing stuff was found just in my pouring over the text of this blog. Praise the Lord for translating capabilities on Google. My gracious. We may have never known these details.

To begin, there were 153 web pages to this blog.

Uh, yeah.

And at first, I wasn't trying to translate them all. I was just scrolling forever and ever trying to find a picture of him to see if I was for sure at the right place. Soon into my search, I saw familiar places...like a wall with green flowers painted on it. I remember it from pictures M sent us when she visited him in March. That was all the confirmation I needed! Over the next two hours, I went through all 153 pages.

Happily, I might add.

Because on page 110, I found him.

Remember the sweet picture of our little prince that we were given just a few weeks ago? The one of him in the incubator? That was bad quality to begin with because it was copied on paper and then scanned and emailed to us?

Right in front of me were more of the same. Only these, were originals.

{I am posting only these two since his face isn't shown in compliance with our agency.}

I go on to find the rest of the pictures...all 37 of them. And the last post on the 153rd page has several beautiful shots of him. And one was taken on that very day.

I was so excited, I sent it immediately to Jase. It is by far the best picture we have of him and to know it is so recent is such a blessing.

In the meantime, I've decided to go back through the 153 pages again and translate the text surrounding his pictures. Heaven help me...why I didn't have the presence of mind to write down which pages his pictures were on, is beyond me! I guess I was too busy copying all of the pictures to my desktop when I'd find one. But having been through the entire site, I so wanted to go back and see what it said, bit by bit. Piece by piece. So I began.

Praise the Lord, my level headed husband is so good for me. Jase comes home and tells me that I can just download the new Google browser and it will translate entire websites for you! Which is way better than my old fashion copy and paste job I was wearily using in just basic Google transl@te.

Sha-zam!

That's just what I needed. My goodness. What a life saver. Now I was able to read the dates too! And so it was much easier to just skip ahead to March of 2011 when he was found.

And how was our beautiful boy found?

I want to be careful and not share things that may be too personal about his life, but some of the details are really an amazing part of his story... the story that God is writing about the little prince, and about Himself as the miracle worker and life sustainer He is.

The records we have from our agency say that his birthdate is 2.22.11. I'm wondering now if that is correct. Because he was found on 3.22.11, in a park in Pingdingshan. Not that it is a life or death problem that it seems inconsistent, but he still had his umbilical cord. It just seems unlikely, to me, that a month old baby would still have his cord. There are a few conflicting dates and statements. But sufficed to say, this website says that she {I think the nurse} agreed to take him and that she took him to the hospital. It says that he was premature and that his body temperature when they got to the hospital, was only 91 degrees.

91 degrees.

Can you imagine? 95 degrees is hypothermic.

It also said that he was naked and wrapped loosely in a blanket. I'm sure he must have initially been wrapped tightly and he kicked the blanket off. Sweet baby. Laying in a park, in winter, in China.

So he was freezing. Literally. And at the hospital, the doctor basically said that there is nothing that can be done for him. "Treatment is of little significance. Doctor say he cannot save the child." And then it says that she asked if she could take him home with her.

My God, thank you for this woman. Thank you for your sovereignty. Sovereignty that placed someone in that spot, in that local park, on that freezing cold day.

I am blown away by the goodness and grace of Jesus. I said the other day in a post, that I know my God sees the little prince. While I never for one second doubted that truth, I believe it now more than ever.

To be continued...

Oh what amazing stories our Father weaves. Thank you so much for sharing!
And FYI-2 of my 4 bio kiddos FINALLY lost their umbilical stumps 3-4 weeks after birth. I think 4 weeks is on the high end, but definitely possible.

No wonder that child is bundled so tight in some of those picture. They never want him to be cold again!

If only that doctor had known when he pronounced that there was nothing medically to be done that everything was already done. And that you and Jase and the little prince were being readied for such a time as this.

Holy cow Kam!! I am in tears!! And my heart is just fluttering!! SO in awe of our GREAT God!! I just can't seem to completely wrap my mind around it all! Probably a good thing and completely the way God intended for our minds to be...ever in awe of Him! What a blessing to find this blog and pictures and information! How good is He to reveal things to us so that our wavering and oh so little faith can be strengthened and rejouvenated! Praise God!

This is amazing stuff :) How awesome! And like someone else said above, my bio baby girl kept her umbilical cord stump for almost 5 weeks, so it is possible!
