my friend and 1, 4, 6

So the bloggy community is a beautiful thing. Truly, I have met some of the nicest families since I began blogging nearly four years ago. Many of them come and go and you are more prone to follow them at various times in your own adoption process{es} as well as theirs. I'm sure our blog gets more traffic during times of recent adoption news than when we are in the hum drum of normal life. Which is fine by me! I happen to adore our hum drum normal life. But that's different post altogether!

My point is, that sometimes you "meet" someone through their blog and you just feel like you know them. They become part of your everyday prayers and you check in on them...all the while they are checking in on you. Sometimes you email. Most every time you comment on their latest post. You save their Christmas card and you spend a week out of the year praying for them specifically with your kids during family worship times each day.

They just become part of you in a weird and neat way. It's hard to explain and even harder to believe actually. It's just the truth of it. We're friends who've never met and yet we are like minded and share the same faith. We walk similar roads and encourage each other along the way.

Jessica.

She lives out West and we are in the Southeast. She has a way with words that I could only hope to ever possess. She is witty and completely charming and she has made me laugh out loud sitting at my Mac more times than I could tell you. Jessica is kind and thoughtful and someone I consider to be a true friend in this world.

She found her beautiful boy in Thailand, just like we did four years ago.

And thus began our friendship.

Last week, the mail lady delivered a little package of beautiful cards from Jessica. Numbered 1-10, they each had a picture, the corresponding number and the Chinese characters for it. They are lovely. So adorable. I picked my three favorites to show you.

1} One very not so big world. Where our children reside on one side and we on the other.

4} In a few months, four children in total will enjoy refuge in our nest. We are more than blessed.

6} Six of us will enjoy the walk of this life together. Shouldered by Jase, our steady rock and the leader of our family, we stack up pretty darn well.

Jessica and Matt now have a daughter who waits in Thailand. She is lovely and beautiful and chosen. I cannot even tell you how blessed they are to be her parents. And couldn't scratch the surface if I shared with you how wonderful her life will be because of them.

The Lord is using them to accomplish amazing things in the writing of this precious little girl's story. It's a fantastic read and I am more than blessed, as her friend, to have an advanced copy.

What a beautiful post, treasuring one God has brought into your circle of friends.

I truly get what you're saying as I now have many new friends due to the blog started 7 years ago to keep family up to date. Who knew? God knew!!

I hope someday you will have the pleasure of meeting Jessica in person! It will be like you've known one another forever, this I can assure you of!

Blessings.

Love you, Kam! So blessed to count you among our dearly beloved.

There have been a good number of days that have felt tedious or fearful or any number of things during both these waits. Do you know the number of times, I've thought, I can make it through this day, Kam is praying. Thank you for your faithfulness and your friendship.

Here's to babies who come home soon and the friends they bring together while their mommas wait.

When I got to the part with the picture of the handwritten note, I cried. I'd know that fancy cursive anywhere!I have a trunk in my room full of similiar notes from Jess, collected over the last twenty-three years. She's my hero.

I thank God that you can both walk this journey together.

She's a treasure.
