perfect

So I'm gonna just cut to the chase. I took just a teeny tiny too many pictures during Easter weekend. I mean, it wasn't grossly excessive. But this is a blog for Heaven's sake.

A web-log.

It's not a novel or a 12X12 coffee table book on Easter photography.

Ahem.

So my words will be few. We had a fantastic weekend. The weather was divine. We headed to my parents and soaked up some family time. We laughed. The kids colored eggs. The pictures aren't great because the light is bad and my external flash wasn't doing all I wanted it to.

Still, this is what we do. My mom and sister color eggs with my kids, each poses for pictures with said kiddies and well...I take a few pictures.

Then we hide the eggs. The kiddies hunt the eggs. And I am reminded during that 90 seconds every stinkin' year how terribly hard it is to get a decent picture of your babies...you guessed it. Hunting eggs.

There.

I said it.

So Easter pictures aren't what I always hope they will be. They just are what they are.

Church was great. I adore church on Easter Sunday. I pretty much adore church every Sunday. But Easter is just so humbling and promising and hopeful. Love, love, love this day.

I baked a ham and fixin's and we ate till we busted. I snapped a few of the kiddies for posterity out in front of our house.

That was about it. Perfect weekend. Not so perfect pictures. But a perfectly imperfect life with a completely perfect resurrected Savior.

Perfect.

This shot totally cracks me up. No explanation needed.

Honey and Pops with the grand kiddies.

Back at home on Sunday after church. My very own Easter bunnies.

Kennedy snapped this of my love and I.

Next year, we will have a little prince of a fellow here with us...hunting eggs, eating Easter ham, and hearing the story of the One True God who came and died and is alive forevermore.

Again I say, perfect.

*The formatting on this post is all screwy. Don't ask me why. It's driving me nuts too.*

Holy Smokes!! Look how grown up Kennedy looks!!! It shouldn't suprise me how beautiful she is, but man....is she beautiful! Not that your other babies aren't completely lovely and so handsome, but I just took special notice of Kennedy in these pics! Glad you guys had a great Easter! Saw you on the front row Sunday, but didn't get a chance to sneak over and say Hi! Maybe next time! :) Miss you guys!

We didn't get our eggs colored until this week and then it was largely my project. But I had a grand time.

Love the b&w photos at the bottom of this post. They capture so much soul!
