We homeschool our babies three days a week.
I mean it.
Most home days, the vast majority of them, I love that we educate our children in this way. Because I have the opportunity to sit with the littles and be wowed at Sydney's ability to see fractions. I just don't have that at all, but she certainly does! Or be blown away at how well the Pook can put her thoughts together on paper. She is an excellent writer for her age. Most days, I just love that we are blessed enough to do this.
And then there are these days.
Where they push me to no end.
They argue.
They talk back.
They are difficult to deal with.
But all too often, after they have worn me slap out and my parenting resembles survival rather than mothering, I walk into the living room and find them together.
Playing and quiet and sweet to each other.
In that moment, all is right with the world.
This was today. This fighting and sassiness {is that even a word?} and altogether difficulty was mixed with a few beautiful minutes of sibling harmony.
This is one of the million reasons I love my life.
Because we school at home three days a week, I could find my babies painting at 2pm on a Thursday. Schoolwork was finished and they took it upon themselves to make some spotted cards for their Nana who was coming for a visit. Unbeknownst to me, they were sitting in our dining room and the Tornado was wearing one of his daddy's old t-shirts {good call, Syd!}. And as luck would have it when I found them, for a shot or two, they had no idea that I nor my camera existed.
Sigh.
I love my life.
