You know, some lovin' from home.
I bought a little foam photo album a couple of months ago so that I'd be somewhat ready when this day came. I printed a few pics of us and our case worker at WACAP translated the words we wanted so that we could label the pictures with stickers. :) Not that whoever shares it with Gabe couldn't figure it out...but just to remove any doubt. So we sent the words mama, daddy, sister, brother, family, we love you and a small letter to him. We also asked her to translate his name for us.
Which, by the way, is so stinkin' cool. Check it out.
周洵
I love the little cross symbol in his name. Don't you? I know it's silly and surely has no significance in the language at all. But it was a reminder to me that God is in this. Love how He does that just when we need it.
My friend, Suzie, who has a sweet pea of her own waiting in China {he and Gabe are just a few months apart in age!} treated me to some yummy LOA congratulatory coffee last week. It was so good to sit and chat with her. She brought me the sweetest gift bag with goodies in it for our little prince. Among them, a little blankie that has a moose head on it. It is soooo soft. Sydney used to rub soft things on her face while she slept. I'm not sure about Gabe's habits, but thought he may like this little blankie now. So I included it in the package as well.
I also put a little teether toy in the shape of an airplane in there and a little ball for him to play with. I was amazed that the lady at the post office was able to fit it all into the smallest flat rate box available! It was a mere $16 to send my sweet boy a box of lovin'. You can't beat that with a stick.
We've been told by other families that the orphanage director at PDS is very good to get the care packages to the children who are in foster care. So hopefully, in a few days, Gabe will be looking at our faces while we dream about his.
Don't you think he'll love it!?
