We are a mere 10 days from going to China and preparations are in full force. So much to do, so little time. But time is always too long when you're away from your baby. And is always too short when you have to leave three others.
I've been in countless meetings at school every day this week as our first day back is Monday. I love our school. I love how we school. I love the people who lead our school. I love the routine and spending time at the kitchen table going over assignments and being in my jammies because of school. It's just made for an incredibly long week and the timing of it all has been hard.
Packing has commenced in our guest room. From bottles to diapers to a traveling pharmacy and yes, even some underwear is already folded neatly and sitting on a stack of other things to be packed. If you had any ideas of coming for a sleepover this week, you need to put it out of your head. Lol. Our guest room is China central.
Logistics are getting really specific and mapped out to the day. Almost the hour. It's amazing. This trip, on the US side, is a well oiled machine. Thanks in full to our families {and a few friends!}. They are doing what must be done for Jase and I to leave and have little interruption in the kids' daily lives and schedules. I'm blown away by how they have all come together to pull off this daunting task. It's really something. My gratitude can't be measured. Driving and home schooling and feeding and hugging our three babies for 15 days.
Fifteen days people.
That's a long time. And the gravity of what they are doing is not wasted on us. Jase and I are humbled and so relaxed knowing that the plan is in place. And it's a good, good plan. What a gift.
Keith even made a calendar for us, complete with details and phone numbers and our basic itinerary for everyone to have. It made me teary when it came via email to my phone. Love, love, love my siblings and knowing that our families are just as excited for Gabe to come home...fills me with so much joy and gratitude. I can't even tell you.

I was telling a friend at school yesterday that the timing of it all is so bad. School is starting and I hate leaving my fellow coworkers in a bind. I hate leaving our children to navigate the beginning of a new year without us here. But she reminded me that it's God's timing. And His timing is perfect. His timing is everything. And all the stress and worry and details of how it will all play out are held most capably in His hands. The Lord has ordained this time for His purposes and our good. To Him be the glory.

What no pictures of the chaos? That's just unfair.
His timing is everything. Those are hard words for me right now. But I know them to be truth and truth played out through Gabe's story.
So terribly, wonderfully thrilled that this is your time. Can't wait to see him in your arms.
So excited for you! I hope you do some blogging in China!
Oh my word! Remember the feeling. So exciting.
That is some seriously impressive prep work, girl!
