Christmas rewind :: part 5, the Eve

So this one will be a reprieve from the last four photo heavy posts! Christmas Eve is typically a day I don't get out my camera much. Just too much going on and I don't want to miss the day.

We had a yummy breakfast, courtesy of my dad, that morning. And then Jase and I began the task of packing up the presents. My goodness! It took a while to accomplish it but my hubby was the van organizing master and we had everything, including our new fire pit{!}, packed away for our drive home.

First though, we headed to Nan's for some extended family celebration. Every year, my dad comes in as Santa for the littles. And so the cousins and other kiddies get all excited and have their pictures taken with him. But since he's their granddad, and they did it the night before, our babies passed. Except Gabe, who is terrified of Santa. Pops? He loves! Gives him big smooches on those hairy lips! But Santa? Not having it. So mom kinda tricked him and had him sit on her lap instead. It worked for about 5 seconds. lol

Karen and I weren't afraid of dad, so we hopped up there for a sister shot. :)

We left for home at around 3:30 or so and were happy to walk through the door and get settled that evening. Unpacked and fed, my men set about putting together Gabe's big gift from Honey and Pops. Teamwork at it's finest...and cutie patooties to boot!

After our babies were bedded down, Jase and I exchanged gifts and stuffed stockings. I was so happy to have four of them to fill this year. God is good and we were feeling particularly blessed that night as we contemplated His coming and all He had done for us during the year.

And then there were four. Blessed are we indeed.
