Earth day 2010~

So we are not big environmentalists. We are however, believers in Jesus. And we know that He created the Heavens and the Earth. I'm sure He expects us to take care of it. While we could always do more, we do try to make a small difference. One way is by recycling...our newspapers, magazines, and aluminum cans. We also use CFL's. But that's also for selfish reasons, because they are cheaper over the long haul. And if I'm anything, I'm frugal.

Take for instance, Walgreens today. In honor of Earth Day, they had a deal going where you could bring in your empty printer cartridges and have them refilled, black or color ink, for a buck! ONE DOLLAR!!! Now, sure, it's good for the environment. But it's also good for my wallet! Holla!

We also planted a million flowers today. Not really in celebration of Earth Day. It's just time to plant. But Kennedy pointed out that it was indeed the real Earth Day so I thought I'd post just a few shots of Joel since he was not afraid to get a little dirty this time. Remember last fall? When he was really scared of planting the mums and pansies? Well, that has passed. He's a true blue boy now...ready to get in the dirt!

Yay for progress, yay for flowers, yay for spring planting! Love being outside with my kiddies~

I planted strawberries (again). I'm hoping for much better results that last year (none).
