But I think pieces is the word of the week.
It seems everything is disheveled and nothing is put together for me just yet.
For starters, Monday was hard and my heart felt broken again over Seth. But the Lord was faithful, as always, He gave me such comfort and if it's possible, used Seth's birthday to strengthen my desire to bring Gabe home. By Monday night, the tears had ended and I was just plumb dumb beside myself with anticipation and excitement knowing that we will be in China in less than 2 months. Crazy surreal.
The little prince has a bed! And not only that, one that is finished! lol. Remember when Jase's dad built it last month? Well, we were able to bring it home and it has been donned with not only the same navy color as Joel's, but a couple coats of polyurethane because, heller, I know how rowdy boys are. :) It looks great. Almost identical to Joel's. We are grateful.
So last night, we assembled the new bed and moved furniture and got the room ready for the Thai tornado and his soon to be, cohort in crime, the little prince, to share. It's nearly complete. I bought new bedding for him. Not all matchy matchy because Joel's bedding from PBK is 4 years old. I went instead with a coordinating comforter and I love it. I love even more that is RL and is nice quality AND was at a discount store for $39. Suweet. We had debated about changing Joel's bedding too so they would be the same but all we could find really was a cheapy $20 comforter that was the right color. I hated for them to have cheapy stuff {since they will be sleeping with it!} and so I was stoked to find a RL for the same price as I would have paid otherwise. Especially since it retailed for four time the price I paid! I still need to find a sham for it. But the room is nearly complete and I feel relieved that it is.
I opened the packaging on some new toys I've been buying for Gabe and put them in the little thingy at the foot of his bed. It nearly made me weepy.
Which reminds me, I'm to the point in the process where I'm starting to crack.
Into little, teeny, tiny pieces.
Not because it's been too long of a process.
Heavens, it's been lightning fast.
And not because I'm wavering.
It's just that the weight of it all is coming on me.
In about 5-6 weeks, we will be meeting our son. We will take Gabe into our arms and into our lives where he will stay for the rest of his life.
And so.
I get a
Because I know what's about to happen.
And how very awful and awesome it's going to be.
Lucky for me {and Jase}, I'm not experiencing the anxiety attacks that I had at this point in the process for Joel.
I'm just a big cry baby.
For no apparent reason.
But for a million reasons.
As for the process, another piece has fallen into place. We now have a coveted GUZ#. This is important, y'all. Without the GUZ#, you can't send the final paperwork to China. So praise the Lord. We are GUZ'd out. I was pretty stoked back in the day when we were BNK'd out too.
The next piece for the puzzle is the cabling of said paperwork that will be accompanied by the GUZ#. That should happen tomorrow or Friday.
And after that?
All we lack is the Article 5 piece {2 weeks} and that is the piece needed to obtain travel approval.
Crazy.
So these pieces? They may seem to be all over the place. But my God holds them. He places them in just the right spot. His hand knows this puzzle perfectly and so there's no guessing where each one should go. How comforting that thought is to me. How infinitely good He is.
And did you notice?
These aren't the only pieces we've got going on.
The countdown has begun and the tile pieces in our header are beginning to fall away.
When the last one is gone,
we're outta here!
